HOW TO KEEP YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
By Madeline Hsu and Maia Vo
With the New Year arriving comes many different resolutions. Let’s be honest, many people don’t end up sticking to their resolutions for more than a month, so here are some tips and tricks to keep with your goals for as long as possible.
The first tip to being successful at fulfilling your goals is to start small and eventually get bigger. Aim for a goal that you know is attainable. You also need to set time specific increments to work on your goal slowly. For example, if you want to get outside more, try going for at least thirty minutes a day for a month, and then increase the time.
The second tip is to find a friend that has a similar goal to you so that you both can encourage each other to stick to your goal and try your hardest. Also, completing your goals with a friend will be much more fun than trying to do it by yourself. For example, if you and your friend are both trying to exercise more, plan some time each weekend to get with each other to take a stroll around a community park.
Next, you should find a way to keep track of everything you do towards your goal. After each month of working towards your goal, you should reward yourself with something fun. Rewarding yourself will make you even more motivated to work towards your goals.
These tips will hopefully help you become successful at keeping your New Year’s resolution! Sticking to your goal can make you become a better person, and you should be proud of yourself for working so hard during the year.
