Reptiles and insects are a popular choice due to their accessibility and necessary maintenance. While tarantulas may seem intimidating at first they are easy to care for and very enjoyable to watch! While some species of tarantulas are venomous, they cannot leave a fatal bite on a human. Bearded Dragons are also another pet gaining popularity. They are very slow-moving, calm animals that are a manageable size. Along with that, no two Dragons are the same when it comes to behavior and patterns. Another thing that makes them a great pet is their longevity. Bearded Dragons can to be a decade old or more!

There are also many interesting mammals on the market! While Chinchillas are not the perfect pet for everyone, they are pleasant, easy to care for pets with very soft fur! Hedgehogs are also very popular due to their quiet yet sweet nature. They also enjoy daily interactions with their owners.

Boa Constrictors are not exactly what people tend to think of when they hear the word pet. Although they make great pets, caring for them should not be taken on by the faint of heart. They can reach 8-10 feet and weigh 50 pounds. They also need a large enclosure. But for some, their sweet and low-maintenance nature outweighs the cons of owning the large snake.
