It’s getting close to Valentine’s Day and festive sweets are appearing on the shelves. One of everyone’s favorite little Valentine’s Day candies are the tiny conversation hearts that come out every year around this time. Listed below is the way these cute treats are created:

  1. Sugar, corn syrup, cornstarch, artificial flavors, gums, and colors are poured together into a big mixing machine.
  2. They use a machine that blends the ingredients which makes dough.
  3. Then, the dough is inserted into a machine that flattens the dough. This process is called sheeting.
  4. The machine then cuts the dough into tiny colorful hearts and applies the words.
  5. Next, the hearts are dried in a long, dryer tube for 30 minutes.
  6. Afterwards, 6 delicious flavors are mixed together.
  7. Finally, the hearts are then packaged up in those cute, little boxes.
