HOW TO SPRING CLEAN
HOW TO SPRING CLEAN
By: Sofie Turck
The weather is warming up and the flowers are starting to bloom. It’s the perfect time to start that yearly spring cleaning. It can be hard to get into the groove of the broom, but hopefully these tips and tricks will make you wanna mop ‘till you drop. Here’s a few spring cleaning hacks to get you started on all that scrubbing:
- Start big
In this case it’s good to start with the big things. You’ll want to start that load of wash before you get to anything else because it takes time to wash all that laundry. Plus, you can get all of that dirty laundry out of the way.
- Tackle the floors
Giving yourself floor space will be helpful when you’re trying to move about your room. Pick up all the trash first, then put all the misplaced items back in to their rightful spot.
- Move around your furniture
Moving around your furniture can add a new feel to your space. The possibilities of your room arrangements are endless. It will also be much easier to sweep and vacuum if you move your furniture to get to those hard to reach places. You could always just move the furniture out of the way, vacuum behind it, and put it back where it belongs, too.
- Clean your closet
Once your rooms all clean you should turn to the messiest part of your room. Your closet. Now, if your one of those people who has an organized closet, good for you you got your stuff together. However, most of us still have our clothes from the 1st grade still stuffed in the back of the closet. Just make a giveaway bag with all those clothes that don’t fit or you don’t wear, someone could use those much more than you. You’ll be surprised how much better your closet looks just after taking out your old clothes.
- Mop and scrub
Save the mopping and scrubbing until your done with the actual cleaning. You can scrub down the furniture and the walls, if you really want to take that extra step. You can have your floors shining in no time with a little elbow grease.
Cleaning may not seem like the best way to spend your time, but I promise you’ll be happy with the results. If you don’t have any plans over spring break, it looks like you’ll be spending some much needed time scrubbing away. So pick up that broom and spring into cleaning!
