There has been a big controversy for long now, about whether water is wet or not. Some say it’s wet, while others say it’s not. So what is it: wet or not?

If people say that water is wet, they do have a point. But, is it really wet? Wetness is a description and when people people say water is wet, they are technically right because “wet” is a word that describes water.

Some people say that water isn’t wet and they are technically also right. The chemical formula for water is H2O, meaning that it has 2 atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen. Which makes water not wet. Water only wets things when it comes in contact with them.

So, basically everybody is right and/or wrong because water is wet, but it isn’t. You can look at it both ways. I believe that water isn’t wet because you only get wet once you come in contact with water. Then again, you can look at it the other way: “wet” is a word you can use to describe water.
